Congratulations to our new team of Publicity and Fundraising Directors, Matt Gilmore and DC Miles. Each are equally in charge of both Publicity and Fundraising. I updated our Contacts page already. Feel free to present ideas to them, but first ask yourself the following:
1. Is this something we're already doing? If yes, let it go.
2. Am I willing to put in some or all of the work to make my idea actually happen? If no, let it go.
I could go on, but you get the idea. This is by no means a negative rant on my part, nor is it based on recent events. I'm just trying to spare Matt and Brodie some of the hair pulling frustration that I dealt with when I was Publicity Director a while back. I am not trying to discourage you from approaching them. I encourage everyone to think about ways to help the club on all levels. Just please, please take the time to think things through and have some sort of plan before you open your mouth. We do have a bright future and I'm looking forward to helping our new Publicity / Fundraising Team as well as the rest of you as we move up to D2.
